The Great Valley (band) dubbed by, Louis and Nick Matos, have been surrounded by music their entire lives. Their mother being a music teacher and father a drummer, their interest in music grew at an early age. After years of writing together the band released their debut EP Wrecking Ball on April 20, 2010 via iTunes, the EP debuted at 188 on iTunes top 200 Alternative Chart. The album was reviewed by rockandrollreport.com,[1] they called the EP "a fury of pop rock energy". The band found instant online success, the record was picked up by Hot Topic to be distributed into 35 stores across Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Shortly after The Great Valley caught the attention of AOL Music director Peter Schiecke who immediately asked to team up with the band for an exclusive feature on AOL.[2] Wanting to give back to their fans the band and AOL Music released 3 acoustic songs for free. A few weeks later the band released their highly anticipated music video for their single "Wrecking Ball". More recently absolutepunk.net [3] and The Great Valley came together to release "Me, Myself & Time", their latest demo to give fans a feel for their first full length record, which is set for an early 2011 release by an undetermined label. The Great Valley has performed live on the WMDT 47 ABC Morning Show in Salisbury, MD as well as The Elvis Doran Show in New York, NY. The band has done several interviews including ones for doubledance.ca [4] and idobi.com.[5] References ^ rockandrollreport.com,"CD Review: The Great Valley “Wrecking Ball” [EP]",May 7th 2010, "Source3", May 7th 2010 ^ aolradioblog.com,"Free Music Tuesday -- Three Songs from The Great Valley",Aug 10th 2010, "Source1", Aug 10th 2010 ^ absolutepunk.net,"ABSOLUTExclusive: The Great Valley Demo Stream", Oct 15th 2010, "Source2", Oct 15th 2010 ^ doubledance.ca,"Talking with The Great Valley; being bros, their music, and the land before time", Nov 3rd 2010, "Source4", Nov 3rd 2010 ^ idobi.com,"The Great Valley discusses new album, plans", Aug 16th 2010, "Source5", Aug 16th 2010 External links Official The Great Valley website The Great Valley on Myspace The Wrecking Ball music video Official The Great Valley iPhone fan app
