Aileen Morrison at the World Championship Triathlon in Kitzbühel, being chased by Nicola Spirig, 2010. Aileen Morrison (born 15 June 1982 in Derry) is a professional Irish triathlete and a member of the Senior High Performance Squad, being one of the most promising London 2012 Olympics prospects. In Ireland Morrison represents the North West Triathlon Club, she trains in Lisburn and is coached by Chris Jones.[1] In 2010, Morrison also started in the prestigious French Club Championship Series Lyonnaise des Eaux and represented Tri Olympique Club Cessonnais. However, she took part in only one of the five triathlons of this circuit. On 18 September 2010 she placed 19th at the Grand Final in La Baule (Triathlon Audencia) and was the second best of the three triathlètes classants l'équipe behind the Canadian Kirsten Sweetland, the club placed 5th in La Baule thanks to Sweetland and Morrison. The best French triathlete of Tri Olympique was Delphine Rousseau who placed only 42nd. Tri Olympique Club Cessonnais is one of the French D1 clubs which completely relies on international guest stars: at the triathlons in Dunkirk and Tourangeaux, for instance, its three best athletes (trithétes classants l'équipe) were exclusively foreigners and at the triathlon in Paris the club did not even manage to have three female triathletes who finished the race, and placed 14th. Aileen Morrison completed a PGCE and may work as a qualified PE teacher. ITU Competitions In the three years from 2008 to 2010, Morrison took part in 22 ITU events and achieved 11 top ten positions.
