Sue Powell-Reed is a Welsh radio & television broadcaster and voice over artist. Powell-Reed originally trained as a teacher and began her career working for Morganite Electrical Carbon Ltd before switiching to local media as a features reporter for the South Wales Evening Post and a contributor to local radio station Swansea Sound.[1] In 1980, she joined HTV Wales as a sports correspondent before switching to continuity announcing in 1984 and went on to become the station's longest-serving staff announcer. Until circa 1990, she also read regular HTV Wales News bulletins as part of announcing duties. Powell-Reed made the final announcement when continuity from Wales was discontinued on January 15, 2006. After leaving ITV Wales, she and announcing colleague Leighton Jones set up the audiobook company Audio Stories for Kids for which she now manages the creative side of the business.[2] Powell-Reed is also the manager of iStar Showreel, a creative media and audio production company run by Swansea-based company Vibetv.tv.[3] She also continues with freelance voice-over work.
